In 1983, Ms. Jane Wurwand, a skin therapist came to the United States to begin her career. She soon discovered that there was a lack of education in the United States for proper skin care treatments and soon developed The International Dermal Institute in California. Later in 1986, Ms. Wurwand, set out to develop a product line that would compliment her skin care teachings without using the common ingredients found in most skin care lines that naturally cause irritations. This was the beginning of Dermalogica, a skin care product line that didn’t contain alcohol, lanolin, mineral oil, artificial colors or fragrances. At first Dermalogica products were only available to skin care professionals through The International Dermal Institute but now are readily available worldwide for at home skin care treatments.
There now over 20 products in the Dermalogica skin care product line and have become the leading recommended product line for skincare by professionals.
